Over the Hump

Officially more than half way through the Premier Diploma course. I’ll post more specifics later, but I have really enjoyed the information and interaction to this point.

A lot of theory about different systems; strengths and weaknesses of each. However, I have really enjoyed the sessions on Leadership and Team Management. Formations are great conversation pieces, but as Doug Williams stated, “Players win games, not formations.” So the real task in front of us is coaching and managing players, and that’s what interest me.

We have two coaches with national team experience (one has been capped with a national team), two with collegiate national titles, countless years as coaches, and 70+ years as coaching education instructors. Great group! And the other 46 candidates at the course are just as impressive! Love this learning environment of professionals sharing and growing together!

NSCAA Premier Diploma

Just arrived in Palo Alto, CA yesterday and kicked off the NSCAA Premier Diploma course in the afternoon. The thing that interests me are the sweeping changes the USSF and the NSCAA are making to their curriculum based on the recommendations of Jurgen and the Federation education initiatives.
